How I Stopped Living Paycheck-To-Paycheck – How You Can Too!

A few years ago I decided to stop living paycheck to paycheck. I did so with the best of intentions, of course. I was having a hard time making ends meet and was tired of working for the man. In order to make more money, I began to work jobs in exchange for a small portion of my paycheck. It was a good way to earn some extra spending money, but I knew that it wasn’t meant to last forever.

If you are like me, your job is where your paycheck goes. When that happens, it’s usually just after you eat, shower, and get dressed up for work. When I stopped living paycheck to paycheck, however, my attention was drawn to something I had little to do with: my bills.

Living paycheck to paycheck isn’t meant to be an endless cycle of bill paying. I took action and changed my behavior. It started with the things that were most important to me, like my family and friends. I made a promise to give back to them, and I did.

I started saving money. I didn’t have a lot of it at first, but I wanted to make sure that I got enough to live for a while. I worked out how much money I had coming in and how much money I was spending each month on bills. Then I planned out where those funds were going. I focused on the things that I wanted and needed and left the expendable items that I didn’t need or want. That freed up a lot of cash for other things.

When I got all of the things that I wanted and needed under control, I still wasn’t happy. I wanted more, and I didn’t think that I was in a financial position to buy all of it. I knew that I had to find other ways to earn money. I knew that I had to get a job. I had to take care of bills and children. It wasn’t just about how I could pay my bills and survive as a person.

My husband worked, but he didn’t like the scope of his work. He wanted to do something more, something that would allow him to do more. He wanted to buy things that were nicer and more durable, and he wanted to see his kids more. This was something that we both struggled with, but it wasn’t possible to leave our home and go back to work. Luckily, we found a work at home business that was ideal for us.

The freedom that I experienced by working from home gave us more financial freedom than we’ve ever had before. We were no longer worried about where our next paycheck was going to come from. We could spend more time with our kids and not have to worry about what we were going to eat for lunch.
